Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club (SGSC) proudly welcomed its new Mens Club Captain, Mr. Shaheen Butt, during their annual Captain’s Season Opener competition on Saturday. The event as always provided a wonderful opportunity for the clubs members to meet and greet the new captain.
Joe Bautista stood out with an impressive performance, scoring 38 Stableford points and securing victory. His round included an exceptional nine net birdies, earning him well-deserved recognition and prizes.

In Division A, Rajesh Chitti claimed the top spot with 33 points, while former club captain Mukti Rai triumphed in Division B with a solid score of 35 points.
In the Captains Guest Division, Sandeep Singh took home the honours with 37 points. The gross champion of the day was Rail Shavaleev, who delivered a strong performance with 32 points, just ahead of Joshua Vardy, who finished as the runner-up with 30 points.
The competition featured numerous prizes, all graciously provided by Captain Shaheen, including several on-course awards that delighted the winners.
At the presentation ceremony, well wishes and thanks were extended to Captain Shaheen as he embarks on an exciting year ahead. He also introduced his Vice Captain for the 2024/25 season, Mr. Hanief Sallie, which was met with enthusiastic applause from all attendees.
Special thanks were also given to the outgoing captain Mr. Abdul Moiz Khan for his dedication and efforts over the past year.
