Qatari national team player Daniil Sokolov has earned his place in the 77th U.S. Junior Amateur Championship, after successfully coming through regional qualifying in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The 14-year-old, who is managed by Niall Horan’s Modest Golf Management, secured his spot after a tense four-way playoff, after Sokolov shot a two-under-par 68 to tie for one of three available qualifying spots.
On the first playoff hole, the Doha Golf Club member calmly rolled in a three-foot birdie. He followed it up by draining a tricky right-to-left five-footer on the second playoff hole to clinch qualification.

The U.S. Junior Amateur Championship, established in 1948, features two days of stroke play before the top 64 players advance to match play. With 264 of the best junior golfers from around the world competing, the event has long been a proving ground for future stars. Past champions include Tiger Woods, Jordan Spieth, Scottie Scheffler, and Will Zalatoris.
Sokolov will now look to follow in those footsteps as he prepares to take on one of the most prestigious events in junior golf set for July 21–26, 2025, at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas, Texas, with Brook Hollow Golf Club serving as co-host.
