Yes, you read that right, a 13-year-old has won the 33rd edition of the Jordan Open Junior Under 16 Division by a staggering 14 strokes!

Qatar’s Daniil Sokolov, claimed his first World Amateur Golf Ranking event at Ayla Golf Club after rounds of 63, 70 and 74. Just the casual 14 strokes better than his nearest competitor, Jordanian Salem Alabdallat.

Not only did Daniil run away with his division, but he also tied the course record from the blue tees, which was previously held by current PGA Tour and DP World Tour player Robert MacIntyre.

A bogey-free opening round included nine pars and nine birdies, set Daniil up perfectly for the remainder of the tournament.

Being in the limelight is nothing new for the Doha Golf Club Member, with numerous trophies to boot already, back in February he qualified and competed in the DP World Tour’s Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, when he was just 12 years old!

There is definitely a bright future for Daniil on the horizon, as he now signs a management deal with Niall Horan’s, Modest Management Golf.
