There are further gains for Oman Golf as they now have a third golfer having entered into the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR).

The Oman Golf Association has recently celebrated the addition of Mohammed bin Saif Al Busaidi into the WAGR, making him the third Omani golfer to enter the global list. He now joins the rankings alongside Azzan bin Mohammed Al Rumhy and Ahmed Khalil Al-Wahaibi.

Mr. Faiz bin Mohammed Riaz, Vice Chairman of Oman Golf Association, met with Mohammed and congratulated him on this achievement on the advanced level of the calibre of players he now joins.

He wished the trio of Mohammed, Azzan and Ahmed continued progress and improvement in their performance to develop their abilities and encouraged their progress and achievements in their golf career.

Mohammed bin Saif Al Busaidi had won the recent Oman National Team Summer Trial held at LA VIE Club last weekend, which led to his inclusion into the World Amateur Golf Rankings.

14 of the country’s best golfers competed in the 54-hole tournament at LA VIE Club over three days. Alongside a congratulations to Mohammed on his victory, a special mention also must go to Pransh Jagwani who captured a Hole-In-One on the 14th Hole on day three of the event.

Oman Golf is clearly at the forefront of the country’s ambitions of growing the game of golf in the Sultanate. They have recently added to their ranks a new national team coach and golf development director Richard Michelmore, alongside their new relationship with The R&A who is committed to investing OMR 100 million over ten years in developing golf and supporting the growth of the sport internationally, including the development and management of sustainable golf facilities and bringing golf into schools within the Sultanate.
