World No. 1 Nelly Korda’s fantastic season on the LPGA hit its first big bump in France.

A poor opening-round 74 was too much for a Friday 69 to overcome, Korda missed the cut by one shot in the Amundi Evian Championship, the LPGA’s fourth major of 2026. She finished with a one-over total, with 66 players making the weekend in Évian-les-Bains.

It’s a surprising performance for Korda, who won the first two majors of the year and continues to work toward completing the career Grand Slam and qualifying for the LPGA Hall of Fame.

The 27-year-old Korda played well in Friday’s second round but stumbled over the last couple of holes, leaving putts short on the 17th for bogey (the only blemish on her scorecard) and 18th hole for par, surely knowing she needed birdie to make the weekend. Both putts were approximately eight to 10 feet.

Korda won the Chevron Championship and U.S. Women’s Open but her bid to win the first three majors of the season ended at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. Her last missed cut came more than two years ago in 2024 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.

Korda has four victories this season and nine top-10 finishes. She’s never won either of the majors overseas, but will have another chance to do so at the AIG Women’s British Open at the end of the month at Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club in England.
