Lydia Ko married Jun Chung in Seoul’s massive Myeongdong Cathedral five days after Christmas in South Korea. After keeping the relationship relatively private, the 25-year-old announced her engagement to Chung in August. Jun’s father, Tae Chung, is the vice chairman of Hyundai Card, a credit-card company in Seoul. Ko shared images guests took during the ceremony on her Instagram account.

Chung was out supporting Ko at the CME Group Tour Championship in November, which Ko won.

The celebration wraps up what was an incredible year for Ko. She won three times on the LPGA Tour in 2022, making it her first multi-win season since 2016. Her last of those wins, the CME, earned her the biggest winner’s cheque in women’s golf history: $2 million. At the end of the tournament, she had plenty of other trophies to pose with: She was Player of the Year and won the Vare Trophy for best scoring average. Her success pushed her back to the No. 1 world ranking. It’s the first time she’s been No. 1 in the world since 2017.

And then after all of that, Ko capped it off by getting married. No doubt 2022 has been quite the year for one of the game’s biggest stars.
