The PGA Tour completed its Florida Swing and Peter Malnati walked away the winner of the last event in the Sunshine State. The University of Missouri grad shot a final-round 67 Sunday at the Valspar Championship to top Cameron Young by two shots at Innisbrook Resort’s Copperhead Course.

It’s Malnati’s second PGA Tour victory, this one coming nine years after the first. It’s also been 3,059 days. This one, however, sends him to the Masters this year, as well as the other three major championships. He’s only ever played in three majors total.

Malnati also collected $1.512 million for his victory, from an $8.4 million total purse. It’s Young’s ninth runner-up finish on the PGA Tour as he continues to search for his first win. He took home $915,600.

Austin Eckroat won the Cognizant Classic at the Palm Beaches three weeks ago to start the Florida Swing before World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler dominated the next two weeks at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Players Championship.

The PGA Tour now moves to the Texas Children’s Houston Open next week in Texas.
