Englishman Callan Barrow has claimed the Al Hamra Championship, and in doing so an invite into next month’s Abu Dhabi Challenge at Al Ain Equestrian, Golf & Shooting Club on the European Challenge Tour.

Barrow carded rounds of 69, 67 and 72 for a five-shot victory and a £5000 winner’s cheque.

Dubai-born amateur Natalii Gupta finished the event at Al Hamra Golf Club in solo sixth. The 19-year-old completed the tournament as the leading UAE-based player on two under par with rounds of 71, 73 and 70.

This is the first time the Clutch Pro Tour, a feeder tour to the Challenge Tour, has held an event in the UAE, with the tour also hosting an event next week at Al Zorah Golf Club, Ajman.

The Emirates Golf Federation received 20 invitations to the events, which have gone to young professionals in the region, local amateurs and UAE National Team players.

Next up for the Clutch Pro Tour is the Al Zorah Masters 19th – 21st March, with the winner receiving a spot in the UAE Challenge at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club on the Challenge Tour.
