At this point, you’re in the minority if you weren’t invited to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding. Adam Sandler was the officiant. Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks were there. As were Brad Pitt, Zoë Kravitz, Sabrina Carpenter, Peyton Manning, Tom Hanks, George Stephanopoulos, Selena Gomez, Justin Thomas, Tim McGraw, Machine Gun Kelly, Karlie Kloss and Mike Vrabel. Charles Barkley? Well, he was invited, but he was one of the few who said, “No, thank you.”

That’s right. The NBA Hall of Famer and golf obsessive turned down the very, very pricey Madison Square Garden bash in favour of … well, in favour of not going.

“I don’t go to weddings or funerals,” Barkley admitted while on “Unfiltered with Ricky Bo and Bill Colarulo” on 97.5 The Fanatic. “But I did get an invite, and I politely declined because I thought it was going to be a crap show.

“I love Travis and Jason [Kelce], and I’ve only met Taylor one time, but yeah, I did get an invite. But I said, that’s just too much. I just want to hang out and play golf, and I don’t want to dress up and all that other stuff. But I appreciate the invitation; it was pretty special.”

We can’t say we’re shocked that Barkley skipped the wedding. The guy does (and says) what he wants, when he wants. If he doesn’t want to put on a suit and venture over to Penn Station, he’s not going to.

More importantly, Barkley has the American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe this week. You can even bet on how he’ll do, with the number in the sportsbooks hovering around a top-63 finish. Barkley couldn’t risk a wedding buffet or an injury on the dance floor, as the man only cares about three things: 1. Golf 2. Ridiculing San Antonio women 3. More golf.
