This, folks, is a bit of a stunner. By now you may have guessed who the headline refers to based on the above photo. But even looking at that, you’re probably thinking Surely, it can’t be Justin Rose . . .
Well, it is. And don’t call me Surely.

That’s right, Justin Rose cracked Google’s top 10 most searched athletes in the U.S. of 2025, which was released earlier this week. The 45-year-old is the only golfer to make the list, which was led by Cleveland Browns rookie QB Shedeur Sanders.
Pretty wild, especially considering Rose didn’t win a major championship this year. Of course, he still had a fantastic campaign, losing the Masters in a playoff to Rory McIlroy, winning a FedEx Cup playoff event and helping lead Europe to victory at the Ryder Cup, where he putted like a god.
Still, most golf fans probably wouldn’t think he’d be in a top 10 of most searched PGA Tour players. Heck, he didn’t even make our list of the top 25 newsmakers in golf!
The rest of the list isn’t nearly as surprising. After Shedeur, who is sports talk’s new Tim Tebow, you’ve got Terence Crawford, Cooper Flagg, Cam Skattebo, Micah Parsons, Jaxson Dart, Sophie Cunningham, Shilo Sanders (Shedeur’s brother and another son of Deion Sanders), Jalen Carter and, then, again, Justin Rose. Amazing.
If you’re keeping track, that’s six NFL players, one NBA player, one WNBA player, one boxer and one golfer. One golfer named . . . Justin Rose.
