Before hitting the first shot in TGL history, Shane Lowry joked about being worried he would “miss the 60-foot screen.” A few weeks later, Kevin Kisner actually almost did just that.
Kisner continued to add to his growing blooper reel in the new simulator golf league. In his first match, he bladed a bunker shot that could have killed someone in the crowd if it hadn’t hit the flagstick. And on Tuesday night, he managed an even more embarrassing moment.
That’s because the three-time PGA Tour winner hit the first SHANK in TGL history. And he acknowledged it in hilarious fashion by blurting out, “SHANK,” as soon as he hit it. Have a look and listen:

Tough scene. Although, it would have been even tougher had he missed that giant screen at the SoFi Center. Seriously, what would they have even done?
Instead, Kisner’s ball hit the screen and missed the green way right. Jupiter Golf Links teammate Max Homa then had to play the squad’s second shot from here:

Incredibly, Jupiter wound up winning the hole! However, Tiger’s team (minus Tiger) lost the match to Bay Golf Club, 6-3.
“It’s all about angles in golf, and mine got a little too close angled to the hosel on that one,” Kisner said after. “But I was telling them that I stood over it, and it’s so weird because you don’t hit shots forever and then you get in these weird rhythms, and I was like, man, this doesn’t feel right, oh, I’m good, hiyaah, and then I was, man, I wonder where that is going to end up. Then Max has this beautiful angle 45-yard shot he’s just been dreaming about hitting and they have a 12-foot pitch, and I’m like, damn, we’ve got another loser, and it’s the only hole we won early on.”
Needless to say, Golf Twitter had some funny reactions as well:

We just hope Kisner shares what Tiger thought of it.
