Rayan Ahmed will become the first player to represent the United Arab Emirates at the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship at Oakland Hills Country Club this week.

Competing in a field of over 250 players from more than 35 different countries, Rayan qualified for the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship due to his World Amateur Golf Ranking and will be playing against a certain Charlie Woods, son of Tiger.

The U.S. Junior Amateur Championship schedule of play will start today and with 36 holes of stroke play over the first two days. Following the first two days, there will be a cut, where the top 64 players will play a matchplay knockout on Thursday and so on. The Championship will finish on Saturday, July 27 with a 36-hole Championship Match.

Over the past weekend, Rayan competed in a U.S. Amateur qualifying event at Columbine Country Club in Colorado, United States of America. Rayan shot a 3 under par, 69 and eventually won the event after a one-hole playoff. Topping this qualifier earned Rayan a spot in the 124th U.S. Amateur which will be played at Hazeltine National Golf Club on August 12-18, 2024.

Ryan has had a strong 2023-2024 season playing in the World Amateur Team Championship, winning the U18 GCC Golf Championship, and claiming the first GCC Youth Games at Abu Dhabi Golf Club.
