After the opening days play in the Pan Arab Championship in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates Ladies have made the strongest start in the event as they lead in both the Ladies Division and the Junior Girls 15 & Under Division.

In the Ladies Division, just three shots back, from the UAE team consisting of Intissar Rich, Alia Alemadi, and Jamie Camero, are Morocco in second spot. They are followed by Lebanon in third, while Tunisia, Egypt and Saudi Arabia round off the top five.

In the Junior Girls 15 & Under, again led by the UAE with Maya Gaudin, Sara Ali, and Aasiya Saleem representing the team. Tunisia are in second, followed by Egypt, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia.

In the Boys Divisions there are three categories being competed for. The Junior Boys 18 & Under which is led by Morocco after the first day’s play at Riyadh Golf Club. Tunisia lead by seven shots in the Junior Boys 15 & Under Division. While in the Junior Boys 13 & Under, Egypt lead by seven shots as well.

Highlights of note are five of the competitors shot under par; Mehdi Ben Youssef (Tunisia U15 Boys) one under, Aberrahmane Fakori (Morocco U18 Boys) four under, Sinan Melhi (Morocco U18 Boys) two under, Mousa Shana’ah (Jordan U18 Boys) two under and Sofia Essakali (Morocco U18 Ladies) one under.

These achievements highlight the emerging talent in Arab world of golf.
