Mike Tyson once famously said, “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.” The same could go for taking a golf ball in the noggin.
Thankfully, that didn’t happen in this case, but Paul McGinley had a close call during Friday’s Sky Sports broadcast of the Amgen Irish Open. The former European Ryder Cup captain was on camera with co-worker Iona Stephen near the K Club’s practice green when a golf ball unexpectedly came into the picture.

Fortunately, Paul and Iona were able to bob and weave to avoid a knockout blow. But while their quick reflexes were impressive, Iona’s quick response to the unnamed offender was even better. Have a look and listen:

“Don’t worry, we forgive you, but you’re meant to be a pro,” Stephen says as McGinley chuckles.
