Jumeirah Golf Estates resident Tommy Fleetwood has announced a partnership with the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) which will support three International Pathway Series events annually in the Middle East and Europe.

With the Tommy Fleetwood Academy Dubai at JGE hosting the first AJGA events, the series will bring more opportunities to top international juniors who want to attend college and earn their way into further AJGA tournaments.

“It’s a great privilege to be hosting the UAE’s first AJGA events,” said the seven-time DP World Tour winner. “The Tommy Fleetwood Academy has gone from strength to strength over the last eighteen months thanks to our partner DP World and the DP World Golf Performance Centre.

“Their support of these three events in the UAE now bridges the link between junior golfers and elite amateurs, giving everyone in the region a chance at every level, whether that’s starting golf for the first time or playing in a professional tournament.

“The AJGA series is a globally recognised pathway for elite amateur golfers to progress and compete at the highest level and we are so proud to be announcing this partnership.”

Jason Etzen, AJGA Chief Business Officer commented on the milestone announcement, “We are excited to partner with Tommy and Clare Fleetwood and everything they stand for.

“The Fleetwoods’ goals align with the mission of the AJGA, and we are thrilled to work together to provide these juniors with an opportunity to grow and build their futures.”

With the success of Fleetwood’s initial academy having opened in the UK back in 2019, and with the family relocated to Dubai, Tommy teamed up with the DP World as part of the DP World Golf Performance Centre to open a second academy in November 2022 at Jumeriah Golf Estates.

Daniel Van Otterdijk, Chief Communications Officer of Group Communications, DP World said, “The AJGA and Tommy partnership is an important initiative, and we are proud to continue investing and working with Tommy, who is a passionate advocate of nurturing and growing the game’s future stars, for the betterment of golf and sport more broadly.

“This partnership forms part of a wider investment DP World has in golf and Tommy and we are delighted to be partnering with him again.”
