Jumeirah Golf Estates’ own, Thomas Stephenson came out on top in the 2024 JGE Men’s Amateur Open this past week. The three-day strokeplay event was held across the Fire Course for the first two rounds and the Earth Course for the final day, with a field consisting of 136 of the best amateur golfers from across the United Arab Emirates and further afield.

The tournament was supported by The R&A and held World Amateur Golf ranking (WAGR) points as well as valuable Emirates Golf Federation Order of Merit points.

Thomas commented on his home victory, “Firstly thank you all for staying around, it’s been a long 3 days, so I appreciate you all for waiting. I want to thank Franco & Adam and the boys for all their work behind the scenes for this event.

“And finally, a massive thank you goes to Stuart Horwood and Ollie Maskell for presenting two outstanding golf courses to have the privilege to play on. I am so privileged to be a member of this wonderful club, winning the Club Championship was a huge honour, but this has to top it for me.”
