The Valspar Championship’s tradition of letting caddies personalize the back of their bibs has been a fun one in recent years. A few of our favorites are Max McGreevy’s “Mr. 89” a couple years ago after shooting that number at the Players, Robert MacIntyre’s looper last year putting the score by which the Europeans won the last Ryder Cup, and Mark Hubbard’s caddie having to wear the words “Kick Me” in 2021. Always a classic.
But on Thursday we saw a new one that drew a few chuckles—and made one PGA Tour wife’s week.
Jessica Hadwin has been a Golf Twitter star and one of our favourite subjects here at The Loop. But, hand up, we’ve been as guilty as anyone when it comes to referring to her as Adam Hadwin’s wife or “PGA Tour wife” like the headline of this post. Nothing personal, Jess, we just go with what we think will draw more eyeballs. Like last week with our post about Jess’ hilarious tweet regarding her awkward convo with Adam after he missed the cut at the Players Championship.
Anyway, Adam’s caddie, Joe Cruz, is wearing a message at this year’s Valspar that gives Jessica top billing. Have a look:
Why’s it always all Adam’s wife and never Jessica’s husband

You’ve got to zoom in, but it says, “JESSICASHUSBAND.” Well played.
In any event, Jessica’s husband is playing in a group with Will Zalatoris and Sam Ryder on Thursday and Friday at Innisbrook. We wish him well this week. And we thank Adam’s wife for delivering social media gold yet again.
