His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan took part in Wednesday’s Pro-Am competition at the DP World Tour’s Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, held at Yas Links Abu Dhabi on Yas Island.

His Excellency, member of the Al Nahyan family, the ruling royal family of Abu Dhabi and the second richest family in the world, played alongside some of the world’s top professional golfers on the DP World Tour, and was paired up with Irishman Shane Lowry, the 2019 Open Champion and six-time DP World Tour winner — including the 2019 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship — in the 18-hole “Par is Your Friend” Pro-Am.

Joining Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan in the four-man “Team Lowry” were Ahmed Suhail Al Mazrouei and Ahmed bin Dasmal.

The winning team over the two-day Pro-Am was Denmark’s Nicolai Højgaard and his HSBC 9 Team of Richard van der Meer, Manoj Khatod and Karan Wats. They shot 41-under-par to win by four shots.

Shane opened up his account on Thursday, in the $9 million Rolex Series event, with an eight-under 64 to lead the four-day event.
