Sergio Garcia has revealed via YouTuber, Rick Shiels podcast, that he wants to make a shock return to the DP World Tour in order to regain his playing privileges in the Ryder Cup for 2025.

Garcia left the DP World Tour to join the LIV Golf League and has as a result paid his eye-watering fine of £700,000 back to the DP World Tour. Next step for the Spaniard is to regain his playing rights on the DP World Tour to then aim to qualify for Luke Donald’s 2025 European Ryder Cup team at Bethpage Black in New York.

Garcia told Shiels that he not only intends to play well in the upcoming major championships to boost his chances, but that he will regain his DP World Tour card this year and compete in the minimum four tournaments required to be a member.
