By now you’ve heard the news. If not on the television or the Internet, then at least on the Richter Scale. Team Europe has won the 2025 Ryder Cup 15-13, staving off a late Sunday charge from the U.S. to claim their third away Ryder Cup win this century. As soon as the final putt was conceded, the celebrations were underway as the Europeans sang, drank and laughed their way deep into the night. Amid the coronation, the Euros even sent a quick message to President Donald Trump, who made an appearance at Bethpage Black on Friday in an ultimately futile attempt to rally the troops. Sound up.

It takes pretty big stones to call out President Trump, but we already know Team Europe has those in spades. Some American fans cried foul after the video surfaced, but the fact is, President Trump inserted himself into the Ryder Cup conversation by appearing at Bethpage Black during a military flyover on Friday. More importantly, the President, who has been known to take the bait on occasion, didn’t seem upset by the video, resharing the clip on Truth Social late Sunday to congratulate the away team for their remarkable performance.

All’s well that ends well, and hopefully, the President can now turn his attention back to the actual issues facing America. As for the Euros, this is a “you don’t have to like it, but you do have to respect it” situation. They took their share of abuse throughout the weekend and hardly blinked. We suppose it’s only fair to give Americans—president or not—a wee taste of their own medicine.
