Golf fans will be able to see every shot struck during the 2021 Players Championship, but it’s always felt like we’ve seen every shot on TPC Sawgrass’ 17th hole. The good shots. The bad shots. The crazy shots. The bad shots again. And again. The famed island par 3 is shown so much, there may be some people who don’t realize the Pete Dye track has 17 other holes.

But while we will undoubtedly be treated to a lot more highlights—and lowlights—from 17, we won’t see anything better during this week’s tournament than what Robert MacIntyre managed during a Tuesday practice round.

The 24-year-old Scot making his Players debut found himself in a peculiar spot on the hole’s narrow peninsula (yes, technically, it’s not an ISLAND green). Whether he actually hit his tee shot there or was just having a bit of fun, MacIntyre pulled off quite the trick shot. Check it out:

Wow. We saw Matt Kuchar find the putting surface with a similar backwards effort in 2015, but to hole it? That’s wild. And bonus points for the lefty using his right hand.

Of course, MacIntyre would rather just find the green with his tee shot once play actually starts on Thursday. But if he doesn’t and still stays dry, we know this Players rookie will be prepared. And again, good luck to anyone topping that this week.
