The Ryder Cup is set to return to Spain in 2031.
Ramon Nogué, president of the Catalan Golf Federation, told the Associated Press on Friday that Camiral Golf and Wellness Resort in Caldes de Malavella has been awarded the matches, saying it will become official next week.
“Any announcement in relation to future editions of the Ryder Cup will be made in due course,” Ryder Cup Europe said.
The resort, formally known as PGA Catalunya, is located in the northeastern part of the country, with the Stadium course having hosted DP World Tour events, including the Spanish Open. It’s ranked No. 3 in the country, according to Golf Digest’s Best Courses in Spain rankings.
This will be the second time the matches will be played in Spain, the previous one coming in 1997 when Valderrama Golf Club in Andalusia hosted the event. That year, Europe won 14½-13½ with Spain’s Seve Ballesteros serving as the team’s captain.
