Marty Gromotka (left) and Stuart Cameron will tee it up in next month’s 19th Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge Grand Final at Jumeirah Golf Estates after emerging from the pack at the 11th qualifier of the season at Al Zorah.
The Team X-Golfers won the gross prize with a betterball 69 around the Jack Nicklaus-designed layout in Ajman.
Gromotka and Cameron will now compete for the City Tower Cup at the XCGC final on Earth at JGE on Dec. 16-17. The City Tower Cup is a popular new division this year which has already achieved it’s remit by enticing low handicap golfers back to the Middle East’s preeminent corporate event.
The final qualifier is scheduled for The Address Montgomerie Dubai on Dec. 7 (12.30pm shot gun start). Visit www.xeroxcgc.com for full details and to register.
Gareth Gie and Neil Demptster came up with one of the season’s best team names and the day’s best betterball net score to win the Al Zorah qualifier.
The ‘1+1=Fore’ duo signed for the net 64 to win by three strokes and advance to next month’s final at JGE.
Ken Lowry and Pieter Mottie (The Daws) captured second place with a net 67 and are pictured with their runners-up swag at the Al Zorah prize giving.
Kirtan Desai and Praveen Manghani (Capstone Insurance) were third with 69 but only on countback from Jai Dawda and Vivek Sharma (Scratch Rangers). The consolation for Dawda and Sharma is a start in the 36-hole Grand Final on Dec. 16-17.
