Now that Max Homa has left X for greener pastures and bluer skies (or should we say Bluesky?), Michael Kim has become the PGA Tour’s new Twitter king. Homa isn’t the only one Kim has caught and passed this week, however. After finishing T2, T13, T13, T6 and 4th in his last five starts, Kim took a page out of Homa’s burn book on Monday, firing a shot across the bow of former co-worker Jon Rahm. Check it out.

Not too many people pick a fight a Rahmbo and live to tell the tale, but as Kim made sure to point out, it was in all in jest.

Sarcasm or not, the numbers don’t lie. After climbing to 52nd in the OWGR during his scintillating stretch, Kim leapfrogged the 2024 LIV individual champ in the world rankings. And with LIV all but giving up their campaign for OWGR points, that doesn’t look likely to change anytime soon. Does that make Kim a better golfer than Rahm? No, but since when have pesky little things like facts mattered on social media?
Kim’s X presence has always leaned informative instead of comedic, but perhaps we’ll see more daggers like this should Kim crack the world top 50 with another fine performance at the Players Championship this weekend.
