Masters champ Jon Rahm will be back at Jumeirah Golf Estates this November to defend his DP World Tour Championship title, it has been announced.
The Spaniard has revealed he will be back in the UAE to take on the Earth course and his DP World Tour rivals at the fifth and final Rolex Series event of the 2023 DP World Tour season from November 16-19 as he hunts a record fourth DP World Tour Championship crown.
The world No. 3 has had a stellar year since his two-stroke triumph over Tyrrell Hatton and Alex Noren in the UAE, winning three titles in five starts before his Augusta crown in April and he has also booked a spot in next month’s Ryder Cup.
Rahm is the first player to win five Rolex Series titles and will be going for No. 6 at JGE in November.
The 28-year-old also finished tied second at the 151st Open Championship and will be a key member of Luke Donald’s European Team ahead of the 2023 Ryder Cup in Rome this September.
“It’s no surprise I love coming back to Dubai and to this golf course for the DP World Tour Championship,” Rahm said. “To win here three times, it means a lot to me, and it’s always an honour to defend any title you have put your name to.
“It’s going to be fantastic week. The vibe in Dubai is great, the field is world class, and the fans get behind the players, so I am looking forward to the challenge and hopefully I can give them something to cheer about come Sunday afternoon.”
Celebrating 15 years, the DPWTC will see the top 50 golfers on the DP World Tour tee it up in Dubai.
