NFL Stars Brice Butler, Patrick Peterson and Eric Ebron visited Royal Greens Golf and Country Club on their very first visit to Saudi Arabia. The American footballers took on defending champion Harold Varner III in a special 3-v-1 charity match earlier in the week at the PIF Saudi International.
The match came down to the very last shot but the NFL stars needed a fourth in their scramble team to defeat last year’s champion as they came up just short on the last with Varner claiming the victory in the three-hole charity match.
World Cancer Day on February 4 is an international day to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection and treatment. The four Americans were raising money for Saudi Cancer Foundation during the match-up.
Peterson, a cornerback for the Minnesota Vikings, said after the charity match, “Golfing with Harold was awesome, appreciate the invitation and being able to play with some friends that I’ve known for a while. It’s awesome here, the course was awesome.”
