In-form Charley Hull lands in Seoul with hopes of clinching her first title since 2022, with the English golfer ready for business at the Aramco Team Series Presented by PIF – Korea.

Finishing in second place at the series opener in Tampa, Hull is keen to continue her fantastic track record on the Ladies European Tour (LET) event, where she has recorded seven top five finishes in just nine tournament starts – winning the event in 2021 in New York.

“I’ve been playing well, with my game in good shape and having a positive season so far,” said Hull in the tournament’s preview press conference. “I just need to keep at it, working on my swing and getting to know the course better here.”

“The greens are lightning fast, so patience will be key. But I’m buzzing for the challenge ahead – there are loads of chances to make birdies this week, as long as I keep it accurate.”

Since being diagnosed with ADHD last year, Hull has openly discussed her mental health. She credits golf and a disciplined exercise routine for helping her manage her emotions, a strategy that is evidently paying off in her performances on the course.

“I just find that sticking to my routines really works for me. I’m one of those people who thrive on having a set way of doing things. It helps me stay on track, and I wouldn’t want to rely on medication for that.

“Plus, I think it benefits my golf game. I can really zone in on what I need to work on, make changes fast, and stay focused on the course. I tend to get bored easily, so having a routine keeps me concentrated on golf for longer periods.”

Alongside Hull sat Belgian golfer Manon De Roey, who knows exactly what it takes to win on the series, having clinched individual victory at the Aramco Team Series presented by PIF – Bangkok in 2022.

De Roey is fresh from victory at the Investec South African Women’s Open, giving her a much-needed confidence boost in her first win since Bangkok, now heading into a stronger field in Seoul.

“It’s great coming off of the back of that win into a new tournament,” said De Roey. “I was delighted with my performance in South Africa and I’m feeling confident about my game heading into this week. Plus, being a team event adds to the excitement.

“I thrive in team settings; it boosts my confidence and motivates the whole team, especially being a previous winner.”

Anne Van Dam – LET

Team captain Anne Van Dam, searching for her seventh LET win, says the Aramco Team Series presented by PIF’s move to take the event to Korea is a great step forward.

“I think one of the enjoyable aspects of the LET is the opportunity to compete globally, experiencing diverse cultures along the way. It’s fantastic to be here in Korea, a new stop for us on the tour. I’ve been thoroughly enjoying my time here so far.”

“I’m really looking forward to playing on this course, you really need to be precise. Being able to shape the ball both ways off the tee is important.

“Hitting high shots into the greens and finding the right spots is crucial. It really brings out the better ball striker, which is a good thing. The greens are tricky, so there aren’t many easy parts.”

Hull, De Roey and Van Dam will begin their campaign at New Korea Country Club, with LPGA stars Danielle Kang and Hyo-Joo Kim also making up the competitive field of 34 LET and 4 LPGA winners.
