If it comes down to the final hole in the Dubai Invitational today, that player whether it be Tommy Fleetwood, Rory McIlroy or any other, will feel a lot more comfortable with a couple of shots cushion on their scorecard.

The closing par-4 measures 423 yards in length and is ranked the 5th hardest hole so far during the tournament through 54 holes.

It may be a pretty sight from the tee, with the infamous sail clubhouse behind the green, but it is a brut of a finishing hole encased by water.

The whole way down the left-hand side you have Dubai Creek glistening in the Arabian sun. While to the right of the fairway, you have a bunker stretching up the whole length of the hole, and if that wasn’t enough further right of that is more water, if you are really wide off the tee!

Safe to say hitting the fairway is a premium, if you need to make a par to lift the trophy.

Predominantly playing into a breeze, let’s say you do find the fairway with your tee shot. The approach shot into the green is then guarded by further water of at least 50 yards which will need to be carried. Plus, the two-tiered green is also surrounded up the left by three green-side bunkers just to make the task even trickier.

With a stroke average of 4.09 so far this week, out of the 60-man field, there have only been 36 birdies, 107 pars, 24 bogeys and 13 doubles or worse across the opening three rounds.

You don’t want to be having to make birdie on the last to win that’s for sure!
