While the top players on the PGA Tour were in Philadelphia at the Truist Championship there were another 132 players competing in the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic at Dunes Beach and Golf Club in South Carolina.

Moments after Sepp Straka captured the Truist, Mackenzie Hughes bogeyed the 72nd hole to back into a three-man playoff with Harry Higgs and Ryan Fox. Playing the 18th hole again, Fox chipped in for an amazing birdie to steal the event when the other two men failed to make their birdie attempts. Fox, a 38-year-old from New Zealand, took home $720,000 for the victory from the $4 million purse. He also earned the last exemption into the PGA Championship next week just up the road at Quail Hollow Club.

Fox shot a final-round 66 against Hughes’ 27 and Higgs’ 68. They all ended at 15-under-par 269 total. Kevin Yu was another shot back.
