The HotelPlanner Tour headed to Finland for the 16th staging of the Vierumäki Finnish Challenge supported by Finnish Golf Union, with an increased prize fund to €300,000.
Event 21 of 29 on the 2025 Road to Mallorca returned to the Cooke Course at the Vierumäki Resort, where the tournament has played every edition since 2016.
Ten winners from the 2025 HotelPlanner Tour season teed it up in Finland: Oihan Guillamoundeguy; David Law; Palmer Jackson; Felix Mory; Rocco Repetto Taylor; Clement Charmasson; Quim Vidal; Joshua Berry; Wilco Nienaber; and Daniel Van Tonder — all vying for a share of the €300,000 prize fund.
Kim Koivu became the first Finnish player to win the event in 2018 after coming out on top in a play-off against Scotsman Robert MacIntyre to secure his second HotelPlanner Tour title of the season. Lauri Ruuska became the second player from Finland to win on home soil after he clinched his maiden HotelPlanner Tour title with a seven-shot victory in 2023 at the Vierumäki Resort. The then 30-year-old became just the fourth player in HotelPlanner Tour history to shoot a round of 59 or better when he achieved the feat during round one.
Vierumäki Resort, located 90 minutes’ drive from Helsinki, is a centre of excellence for the Sport Institute of Finland, where the main aim is to develop and market competitive training and education in leisure and physical education. The Cooke Course, designed by North American architect Graham Cooke, is set in rolling countryside surrounded by beautiful lakes. The fairways are wide and tree-lined, while water comes into play at the third, sixth and seventh holes.
Scotland’s David Law captured his second HotelPlanner Tour title of the season, after rounds of 65, 68, 70 and 68 for a tournament total 17 under par. The win moves him to first place on the Road to Mallorca Rankings and sets him up perfectly for his return to the DP World Tour next season.
