The Sentry, formerly the Tournament of Champions, kicks off the 2025 PGA Tour season with a limited 60-player field competing for a share of the $20 million prize pool. This no-cut event features all winners from 2024 and the top 50 in the previous season’s FedExCup standings.

Scottie Scheffler, the World No. 1, will miss the tournament due to a hand injury sustained during Christmas dinner, leaving the field more open than usual. Xander Schauffele, a two-time major winner in 2024, now headlines the field in Scheffler’s absence.

Defending champion Chris Kirk, who won in 2024 by edging Sahith Theegala by one stroke, will return to defend his title. Other notable absences include Jon Rahm and Cam Smith, who both joined LIV Golf. Other notable absences include Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood, who are starting their 2025 seasons on the DP World Tour.

The winner of the tournament will take home $3.6 million and 700 FedExCup points.
