The HotelPlanner Tour headed to Germany for the 5th staging of the of the German Challenge powered by VcG, with an increased prize fund to €300,000.

Event 18 of 29 on the 2025 Road to Mallorca marked a welcome return to Wittelsbacher Golfclub, which is located in the Neuburg an der Donau region, just north of Munich.

10 winners from the 2025 season were teeing it up at Wittelsbacher Golfclub: Maximilian Steinlechner; David Horsey; James Morrison; Felix Mory; Jonathan Goth-Rasmussen; Clément Charmasson; Renato Paratore; Quim Vidal; Joshua Berry; and Jamie Rutherford —all vying for a share of the €300,000 prize fund.

Wittelsbacher Golfclub, founded in 1988, was once where the horses of Bavarian kings used to breed but was transformed by Dutch golf course architect Joan Dudok van Heel into one of the most picturesque and beautiful golf courses in Germany. The parkland layout plays as a par 73, measuring 7,479 yards and the 200-year-old oak and linden trees that line the fairways provide a unique challenge and a stern test for many of the golfers competing this week in Bavaria.

JC Ritchie returned to the winner’s circle with a dominant eight-stroke victory in the German Challenge powered by VcG at Wittelsbacher Golfclub.

The South African, who is now a five-time HotelPlanner Tour winner, signed for a six under par round of 66 on the final day, building on a five-shot overnight lead to cruise to an eight-shot win on 24 under par, with Englishmen Joshua Berry and Tom Lewis sharing second.
