The top 50 available players in the Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex were playing for a share of a $10 million prize fund at this week’s season-ending DP World Tour Championship.
Contested over 72 holes, with no cut, the concluding Rolex Series event featured a $10 million prize fund – the biggest of the 42-tournament 2025 Race to Dubai season. Of the 37 different winners this season, 27 made their way to the second of back-to-back Rolex Series events which serve as the DP World Tour Play-Offs. There were two pieces of silverware on offer this past week, with both the DP World Tour Championship and Harry Vardon Trophy at stake.

Race to Dubai Rankings leader Rory McIlroy arrived at Jumeirah Golf Estates chasing a seventh Harry Vardon Trophy and fourth in a row. The Northern Irishman has won twice this season, first at the Masters to complete the career Grand Slam and later in a playoff at the Amgen Irish Open. He closed last year with victory at the DP World Tour Championship and again controlled his own destiny heading into the final week. A tie for third in Abu Dhabi extended his lead over closest challenger Marco Penge — the only three-time winner on Tour this season — to 767.02 points. With 2,000 points available to the winner and 57.6 for last place, both Penge and third-ranked Tyrrell Hatton remained in contention for the Harry Vardon Trophy.
As mentioned, the final event of the 2025 Race to Dubai featured the leading 50 available players on the Rankings, alongside them was also Ludvig Åberg – who is making his DP World Tour Championship debut – and Shane Lowry, who are also eligible for the season finale as European Ryder Cup players.
As part of the Strategic Alliance between the DP World Tour and PGA TOUR, the top ten players on the final Race to Dubai Rankings, not otherwise exempt, would earn PGA TOUR membership for 2026. The player who finished first on the list would qualify for THE PLAYERS Championship and two early Signature Events in the 2025 season, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and The Genesis Invitational, with that reward set to be claimed by Penge.
On a side note, the leading 10 players on the Race to Dubai Rankings after the conclusion of the DP World Tour Championship would be eligible for a share of the US$6,000,000 bonus pool. Players must have participated in at least 4 Counting Tournaments in the current season, including the DP World Tour Championship, to be eligible for a share of this bonus pool.
Matt Fitzpatrick secured his third DP World Tour Championship title in style as he beat Rory McIlroy in a play-off to finish the 2025 season on a massive high.
