The DP World Tour returned to action for the 23rd edition of Austria’s national Open, the Austrian Alpine Open presented by SalzburgerLand, with an increased prize fund of over 100%, to $2.75 million.

In the third event of the European Swing, European Ryder Cup Captain, Luke Donald, alongside his Vice-Captain Edoardo Molinari were confirmed for this year’s event, which got underway on Thursday 29th May.

Donald and Molinari were part of a 156-strong field at the Jack Nicklaus-designed, GC Gut Altentann in Salzburg, at an event that first featured on the schedule when Bernhard Langer won the title here back in 1990.

14 Austrian players competed in the field this past week, thanks to a partnership with the Austrian Golf Federation, spearheaded by Bernd Wiesberger.

Newly crowned Hainan Classic winner Marco Penge was also in the field, as were Ashun Wu (winner of the 2016 Austrian Open), Richard Mansell, and Eugenio Chacarra – all winners of this year’s Asian Swing on the DP World Tour.

Nicolai von Dellingshausen secured his maiden DP World Tour title after a putting masterclass on Sunday propelled him to a two-stroke victory at the 2025 Austrian Alpine Open presented by SalzburgerLand.
