The DP World Tour’s 2025 Race to Dubai season continued this past week with the 70th edition of the Amgen Irish Open, taking place at The K Club, County Kildare, Ireland, from 04-07 September 2025.
Event number three on the Back 9, was a $6 million tournament which holds a key place on the DP World Tour’s 2025 Race to Dubai, a season that concludes on the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates, Dubai, UAE, in November.
The field for the 2025 Amgen Irish Open was as strong as ever. Career Grand Slam winner Rory McIlroy, Irish Major winners Pádraig Harrington and Shane Lowry, and European Ryder Cup Captain Luke Donald all teed it up in County Kildare. They were joined by fellow Major Champions Brooks Koepka, Francesco Molinari and Danny Willett as further star quality is added to the Amgen Irish Open field.
Recent DP World Tour winners Tyrrell Hatton, Martin Couvra, Eugenio Chacarra, Marco Penge and Danish breakout star Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen joined them at The K Club.
The K Club hosted The Ryder Cup in 2006, when Ian Woosnam’s European side retained their title by a record-equalling 18½ – 9½ defeat of the United States. A decade later, in 2016, the venue hosted the Irish Open for the first time, with McIlroy winning by three strokes.
This year’s Amgen Irish Open also formed an important part of final preparations for some players ahead of The 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage, which takes place in three weeks time.
