After a one week break, the DP World Tour resumed its International Swing in Africa with the Magical Kenya Open presented by absa.

The event returned to Karen Country Club for the first time in five years. Founded in 1937, it is one of the oldest golf clubs in Kenya and has shared hosting duties of this tournament with Muthaiga Golf Club.

Of the 144 players who teed it up, 47 were DP World Tour winners. Among them was Freddy Schott, who returned to action following his maiden triumph at the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship earlier in the month.

Thriston Lawrence, Niklas Nørgaard, Rikuya Hoshino, Matteo Manassero and Antoine Rozner all held dual membership with the PGA TOUR last season and the quintet continued their Race to Dubai campaigns in Kenya.

There were home hopes as well, with 17 Kenyans, including five amateurs, in the field.

Celestin Nsanzuwera of Rwanda became the first golfer from his country to tee it up at the Magical Kenya Open, and just the third to compete on the DP World Tour after qualifying via the Sunshine Development Tour.

The professionals competed for a $2.7 million prize fund, a record for the tournament and an increase from $2.5 million the previous year.

Casey Jarvis won his maiden DP World Tour title as he rounded off a wire-to-wire success at the 2026 Magical Kenya Open presented by absa.
