A total of 46 junior golfers took part in Jumeirah Golf Estates’ monthly Tommy Fleetwood Academy Junior Medal Series, presented by DP World. Players with handicaps competed over nine holes from various tee boxes to define their divisions, while newer golfers took part in a six-hole tournament from the forward tees, offering a welcoming and inclusive format for all levels.
The standout score of the day came from Ethan Alan, who claimed victory in the Gross Division from the Signature Tees with a superb one-under-par round (gross 35), highlighted by birdies on holes seven and nine.
In the Forward Tee Gross Division, Nicholas Callan secured top spot with an impressive three-over-par, 39. The Girls’ Champion was Ishika Kaul, who delivered a phenomenal net 32 — four under par — featuring four consecutive net birdies and a bogey-free round.
In the 9-hole Signature Tee Net Division, Ayaan Khan emerged victorious with a stellar net 33, three under par. Sebastian Sales followed closely in second with an even-par net 36, while Thomas Hart took third with a solid one-over-par net 37.
The 9-hole Forward Tee Net Division produced some of the lowest scores of the day. James Cockburn led the field with a remarkable net 25 — 11 under par. His brother, Jasper Cockburn, claimed second with a strong six-under-par net 30. Mrinal Sujith finished third on three under (net 33), while Lara Bakhour took the prize for best girl in the division with a composed level-par net 36.
The 6-hole Gross Tournament, designed for younger or less experienced golfers, saw Poyraz Kocagozoglu triumph with an excellent five-over-par round, including pars on holes 4 and 5 — a fantastic performance from the rising star. Arthur Smith secured second place on countback from Zorawar Kochar, both carding 15 over par. Among the girls, Arabella Pulisciano impressed with a confident display and was deservedly crowned the best girl in the division.
Cameron McWhinnie, Assistant Golf Services Manager at Jumeirah Golf Estates, expressed his appreciation, “As always, we extend our sincere gratitude to DP World and the Tommy Fleetwood Academy for their unwavering support with these events, and for delivering these juniors with fantastic opportunities to compete and grow their own golf games. The Fire course saw some fantastic golf this afternoon, and everyone should be proud of their performance.”
