Donald Trump to open championship golf course in Saudi Arabia

Donald Trump’s golf footprint in the Middle East is set to grow again with the announcement of a new Trump-branded championship course in Saudi Arabia.

The Trump Organisation, in partnership with Dar Al Arkan and Dar Global, has unveiled plans for Trump International, Wadi Safar, a large-scale luxury development anchored by a championship golf course just outside Riyadh. The 2.6 million square meter site sits within Wadi Safar, part of the Diriyah master plan and a key project under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative.

While full design details have not yet been released, the course is expected to take advantage of Wadi Safar’s dramatic desert landscape, with natural wadis and elevation changes shaping the layout. The golf course will sit at the heart of a gated community that also includes a Trump-branded hotel and high-end residences overlooking the fairways.

The Saudi project continues a steady expansion of Trump-branded golf in the Middle East. Trump International Golf Club Dubai opened in 2017, with additional developments underway in Oman and Indonesia, and a Tiger Woods-designed Trump World Golf Club planned in Dubai.

As Saudi Arabia continues to invest heavily in golf course development and international events, the addition of a Trump-branded championship course near Riyadh further underlines the Kingdom’s ambition to establish itself as a major destination for global golf.

Trump International, Wadi Safar is expected to become one of the region’s most closely watched new golf projects as further details emerge.
