The 2024 Paris Olympics are a wrap. Scottie Scheffler claimed gold on the men’s side while Rose Zhang was the top American woman, finishing T8. Absent in the medal mix, however, was women’s World No. 1 Nelly Korda, who had a rollercoaster week at Le Golf National.
At times, she looked like the player that won six times in seven starts this spring, and at others—including her so-called “shank” coming down the stretch on Sunday— downright human. Korda finished the week just outside the top 20, but while she may not have accomplished her number-one goal on the course, she did off it, as evidenced by this tweet on Tuesday.
Paris 2024 🇺🇸
Such an honor to represent my country and be a 2 time Olympian. The crowds were unbelievable and so was the experience. THANK YOU!
Golf hasn’t been the easiest recently but I still get to live out my dream everyday and for that I am beyond grateful. We will… pic.twitter.com/uwfqYWYXlF

That’s a great perspective, aided surely by the video you see on the bottom right. Yep, Nelly Korda got her “crookie.”
Before the tournament, Korda said her biggest goal in Paris was to try a crookie, the viral cookie/croissant hybrid that’s currently taking over the world. The crookie was invented in Paris by chef by Stephane Louvard, and it looks like Korda was lucky enough to go straight to the source.
Korda says golf “hasn’t been the easiest” recently, but here’s hoping her Parisian pastry pilgrimage helped to sweeten the struggles.
