A missed cut at the Open Championship aside, it’s been an incredible month for Bryson DeChambeau. The guy won a U.S. Open and now he’s winning YouTube with his “Breaking 50” video with Donald Trump. These numbers might be more impressive than Bryson’s Trackman stats.

This week, DeChambeau returns to real competition at the LIV UK event. But before it started, he was asked about the video he made with the former President—recorded on July 6 so before the assassination attempt on the GOP nominee—and had this to say about doing another with a democrat.

“I’m more than willing to play with them,” said DeChambeau, who reached out to both sides when he made his initial request and who is using the video to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project. “I have no issues whatsoever. The thing about golf is that the more we can utilise golf to bring everyone together in a cool way, I think that’s the vision of the global game of golf.”

Then DeChambeau was asked whether he had any future aspirations of running for President. (Imagine him addressing the nation on lie angles or how morning dew affects ball speed?) And he already sounded like a veteran politician holding the mic.

“DJT said he’d never do it, and he’s obviously doing it now,” DeChambeau said. “You never know the position of things, and they may change down the road, but for me, probably not. I don’t think so. I’m going to play golf for the rest of my life. I’ll stick to my golf lane.”

That doesn’t sound like he’s totally ruling it out to us . . . Then again, this is a guy who once said he wants to live to 130 or 140 so who knows what’s going on in that beautiful mind. Anyway, have a look at his answer, which includes Crushers teammate Paul Casey take a little crack at him:

Hey, DeChambeau has a point. His Crushers are the defending LIV champs and are in first place this year. But if Bryson can’t keep his players in line as captain, that’s probably the highest office he’ll ever hold.
