Miami in October must feel like a million miles away for Brooks Koepka, when he last headlined a major event at the LIV Golf finale.

But the American four-time major winner is well reseted and raring to go again in 2023, with a hectic LIV Golf schedule ahead and the Saudi International in Jeddah to get things started this week.

“It’s been nice to do things I haven’t done in a long time, just enjoy the house, just enjoyed hanging out at home,” Koepka said of his extended break. “It’s been great. A good off season. I feel good.

“I started playing maybe about two weeks ago, and just came back into rhythm, and obviously it’s nice to be back here in Saudi Arabia. I have nice memories here, so hopefully I will have a good week.

Nice memories indeed as the four-time major winner claimed the LIV Golf Jeddah crown on the same Royal Greens course we will be competing on this week.

“It’s been a while since I’ve felt this good, maybe around four years. I am excited to play as I feel like I can play to my potential again, which is exciting.

“It’ll be a good test this week just to kick it off and see where we’re at.”

With a restored confidence, the 32-year-old is looking to add to his major haul this season, too.

“Obviously I win as many times as I can. That’s the goal. I’ve got some that I’ve kind of just mentally ticked off, winning multiple times and winning a major. I think that’s always a goal going into every season.

“I have around 10 years now in professional golf, and I usually get off to a pretty slow start. But put a scorecard in your hand, play a few events, and get some rounds under your belt before Augusta [The Masters in April] and we will see.”
