LIV Golf’s Anthony Kim announced he has a blood clot in his leg.

Kim posted on social media that he had been feeling unwell for a couple weeks ahead of LIV Golf’s season opener in Saudi Arabia, yet didn’t know what was wrong. On Monday, Kim was informed the issue was due to a blood clot, with him posting a photo of a hospital bracelet on his wrist.

It is not immediately clear how this will impact Kim’s playing schedule. LIV’s next event is slated for March 7 in Hong Kong.

Kim returned to professional golf last season following a 12-year sabbatical, signing a deal with LIV Golf. Kim struggled in return, finishing last in the Saudi circuit’s season-long standings out of 57 players and failing to finish inside the top 30 of any event. He is currently last on this year’s points list after two events following T-49 and T-51 finishes to start the 2025 campaign. Kim is not on an LIV Golf club, instead playing as a wildcard.

While injuries were noted as one of the reasons that caused Kim to step away from the game, he has also been open about his battles with addiction and mental illness. “I got so good at hiding it that I lost who I was,” Kim wrote last week. “It’s f—in’ hard playing majors making porta potty stops every few holes.” Kim eventually checked into rehab, and last week celebrated two years of sobriety.
