The Orient Travel Monthly Medal returned to Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club (SGSC) on Saturday, 7th December, with members out in full force to compete in what proved to be a fiercely contested event. However, it was former SGSC Club Captain Ravi AE who stole the spotlight, claiming the title with a brilliant net score of 71.
Ravi’s performance was nothing short of spectacular, featuring an impressive eight net birdies. He was thrilled to take home the fantastic prizes generously provided by the event’s esteemed sponsor, Orient Travel. “It’s always a great feeling to win, especially in such a competitive field,” Ravi said, beaming after his victory.
In a nail-biting finish, the runner-up position was claimed by low-handicapper George Liu, who also posted a net score of 71. Despite his strong performance, Liu was edged out by Ravi in a countback, emphasising just how close the competition was. SGSC’s current Club Captain, Shaheen Butt, secured third place with a solid level-par 72, rounding off the top three in a highly competitive field.

In addition to the overall net prizes, the best gross score of the day was claimed by Josh Vardy, who posted a well-played 77. Vardy’s steady and composed round earned him recognition as the day’s top performer in the gross category.
As the winter season progresses, the Gross and Net Order of Merit races will continue alongside the Orient Travel Monthly Medal, adding further excitement and anticipation as members battle for the top spots. With the season still underway, all eyes will be on who will emerge victorious in both categories by the end of the year.
