Early in his career, Bryson DeChambeau’s vows to “change the game” were met with plenty of eye rolls. Unfortunately for the haters, he’s delivered on that promise time and time again.
Whether it was making single-length irons cool, bulking up and overpowering Winged Foot to win the U.S. Open in 2020, or hitting it so much farther than everyone that his peers started similarly chasing distance, DeChambeau has undoubtedly changed the game in more ways than one. In 2025, he vows to change it again.
“I’m building some equipment that you guys might know or might not know about, but we are very excited to be showcasing that next year,” DeChambeau said on The Loop podcast. “We’re going to change the game. We’re going to ruffle some feathers I’d say, in a good way, a really good way. We’re going to innovate beyond what’s known so far.”
The two-time U.S. Open winner was specifically talking about what will be in his bag. Last season, during his victory at Pinehurst, DeChambeau had a LA Golf Bryson DeChambeau prototype driver as well as a LA Golf Armlock prototype putter. His woods were Krank branded and his single-length irons were made by Avoda Golf. In 2025, DeChambeau’s entire bag will be from LA Golf.
“This has been a year in the works and we’re excited to showcase not only the driver stuff that we’re doing with … I mean, I could say it, LA Golf,” he said. “The putter that I came out with and the irons that I’m building, 3 woods and wedges, the whole bag, we’re doing the whole thing. It’ll be designed by [LA Golf Chief Design Officer] Jeff Meyer and myself. We were hands on, went through the whole process, testing, researching. You’re going to see something pretty special that no other OEM is doing.”
We’d expect nothing less from the Mad Scientist. During our interview with DeChambeau earlier this week, he also spoke about his new deal with Reebok, teaming up with Brooks Koepka for The Showdown next Tuesday and his first in-person meeting with Rory McIlroy after Pinehurst.
