With the cost of living crisis bearing its ugly head across the globe. A nice break from it all, might be to attend a sporting event to take your mind of things.

How about the 2025 Ryder Cup?

Well, don’t get your hopes up. The PGA of America has released its ticket pricing for the 2025 edition next September. And it isn’t cheap…

Even if you are either Team USA or Team Europe, I’d start saving now.

First broken by No Laying Up’s Kevin Van Valkenburg, Kevin went diving into the FAQ section of the Ryder Cup website where he found the pricing structure.

A ticket for just a practice day, on Tuesday or Wednesday, will set you back $225.27 / £172.62. While Thursday’s, final practice day which includes the Junior Ryder Cup, Celebrity Matches and the Opening Ceremony has a price increase up to $423.64 / £324.64 – Ouch.

If you are lucky enough and have started saving already, a single days ticket for Friday, Saturday or Sunday where you will actually see some action, will set you back $749.51 / £574.35.

However, each of these prices includes unlimited food and non-alcoholic beverages at any of the concession stands throughout the grounds.

These prices do not include hospitality and, through a ballot system, are the only way you can secure a ticket to the 2025 Ryder Cup in advance.

Surely, that will give the Americans a huge home advantage, as it is a massive hit for European fans wanting to head across the pond to Bethpage Black in New York.

To put it in relation to the 2023 Ryder Cup in Rome, it was $68 / £52 / €62 for a ground pass for Tuesday practice and $119 / £91 / €109 on Wednesday and Thursday practice. With general admission tickets rising to around $274 / £210 / €210 when the action began.

I’ll let you do the math for hotel, flight, food and drink on top of that…

Thankfully it only comes around every two years!
