On Friday, the 2024 Solheim Cup will get underway at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club. There, the U.S. and European squads will compete for international bragging rights on one of the most unique stages in women’s golf. The U.S. ladies will be hoping to avoid a fourth straight defeat at the hands of the Euros, but losing on home soil for the second time this decade still wouldn’t be as embarassing as the old photos the players were asked to sign on Tuesday. Let the cringe fest commence.
Had to do some digging to find these gems 😝

Make no mistake, this is mortifying, but it’s also charming in its own way. We can all relate to having woefully dated photos of ourselves buried on dormant Facebook pages and in dusty photo albums. To see some of golf’s best players blush when confronted by those pics makes them seem Just Like Us, if only for a moment.
“That’s disgusting,” says Sarah Schmelzel while signing a photo of her crossing her eyes and sticking her tongue out. “Do I have to sign it or can I just rip it up?” asks Alison Lee gazing upon an image of herself riding a mechanical bull. “At least it’s not a bikini photo,” quips Nelly Korda with knowing look toward the camera.
With these embarrassing memories now put to rest, here’s hoping the U.S. Solheim Cup will play free and fearless the remainder the week.
If not, perhaps they’ll have to dig up some old photos of their Euro foes come 2026.
