Earlier this summer Gullane Golf Club in East Lothian was hit with gale force winds caused by Storm Hector, causing a hospitality tent set up for the Scottish Open to be swept away by high winds. A similar act of destruction hit Scotland this week, this time at the Home of Golf.

The town of St. Andrews was a recent causality of Storm Ali, which brought 100mph (160kmh) winds to the country. The Old Course is preparing to host the Alfred Dunhill Links, meaning various infrastructure and tents are scattered throughout the property. One of those tents was lifted by the winds and destroyed, with the drama captured on film.

According to Richard Rooney of the Courier, no one was hurt at St. Andrews during the event

With the storm still hitting Scotland, more tents and marquees could face similar fates, forcing officials to ask the public to be careful when in the area.

The Dunhill Links Championship, will which also be conducted at Carnoustie and Kingsbarns, is set to visit the Old Course on October 4. Tyrrell Hatton is the defending champion.
