The 57th edition of Singapore’s National Open was staged this week on The Serapong for the 15th occasion, while it welcomed The Business Times on board as presenting partner for the first time.
The Business Times is part of Singapore Press Holding (SPH) Media, an iconic institution in Singapore. The partnership marked the first time that a flagship news publication had sealed such a deal with the National Open. They aligned their sponsorship with their 50th anniversary celebrations.
The tournament was last played at Sentosa Golf Club in 2022, when Thailand’s Sadom Kaewkanjana beat Tom Kim from Korea and Japan’s Yuto Katsuragawa by two strokes.
LIV Golf young guns chased The Open berths in Singapore.
The Singapore Open was part of The Asian Tour’s International Series – the upper-tier level of events that provided a pathway to the LIV Golf League.
This year’s Singapore Open also paved the way for qualification to the 154th Open as part of the Open Qualifying Series.
The leading two players, not otherwise exempt, were rewarded with places in the game’s oldest Major, which was played at Royal Birkdale from 16–19 July.
From the US $2 million prize purse on offer, the winner received US $360,000.
Korea’s Jeongwoo Ham quashed any doubts that he would be unable to keep the lead in the Singapore Open presented by The Business Times for the fourth straight day by completing a famous wire-to-wire win today at Sentosa Golf Club.
