The HotelPlanner Tour continued its two-week swing in China this week for the second edition of the Hangzhou Open on the Road to Mallorca, with a prize fund of $500,000, taking place from 9-12 October.

Event 28 of 29 on the 2025 Road to Mallorca was making a return to Hangzhou West Lake Golf Club for a second consecutive year after the course first emerged on the HotelPlanner Tour 12 months ago.

20 winners from the 2025 HotelPlanner Tour season teed it up in Hangzhou: JC Ritchie; Hugo Townsend; Anders Emil Ejlersen; Filippo Celli; David Law; Oihan Guillamoundeguy; Daniel Young; Maximilian Steinlechner; David Horsey; James Morrison; Palmer Jackson; Felix Mory; Rocco Repetto Taylor; Jonathan Goth-Rasmussen; Renato Paratore; Clement Charmasson; Quim Vidal; Joshua Berry; Wilco Nienaber; and Jamie Rutherford — all vying for a share of the $500,000 prize fund.

Designed by 18-time Major Champion Jack Nicklaus, Hangzhou West Lake Golf Club offered a championship-style test. The course, famous for its natural scenery, boasts a 7,252-yard par-72 layout, with each nine providing a very different test, according to Nicklaus himself.

As the HotelPlanner Tour stayed East, attention was on those looking to secure their place at the Rolex Grand Final later this month. The top 46 available players are set to tee it up in Mallorca, but it was the perfect opportunity for players outside the cut-off could make a late bid for promotion.

Prior to the event, Irishman Max Kennedy held the all-important 45th position, 13 points ahead of German Hurly Long, who sat outside the provisional cut-off. Frenchman Julien Quesne, Spaniard Albert Boneta and Dane Anders Emil Ejlersen were among those looking to break into the top 45 once the Hangzhou Open concluded.

The top 20 players on the Road to Mallorca Rankings, after the season-ending Rolex Grand Final supported by The R&A, will earn a DP World Tour card for the 2026 Race to Dubai.

Spain’s Sebastian Garcia became a winner on the HotelPlanner Tour for the very first time, after coming through a play-off to win the Hangzhou Open.
