The PGA Tour’s final PIP ranking has been in the ground less than a week, but already the golf world is dancing on its grave. Designed to incentivise players for their influence online as much as on the course, the ill-fated program ended up rewarding the fading stars of yesteryear, regardless of what they did or didn’t do on TikTok (also RIP).
We doubt the DP World Tour is intentionally rubbing salt in that wound, but with their latest sketch comedy video, “Influencer Training,” they skewer PIP and the way-too-online world of golf with the help of some the tour’s top pros. If you’re just as sick of liking and subscribing as the rest of us, give it a watch.
It’s not enough to just be a good golfer anymore…

Pretty funny stuff. We’re especially loving Tommy Fleetwood’s heel turn, Min Woo Lee’s diss track and Paul Waring’s Nextel-as-hell cellular device. “It’s got snake on it!” he quips. We have no idea where they even found a phone that old, but kudos to the props department (AKA Waring’s desk drawer).
Of course, we understand as arbiters of Internet golf content with various social media handles and subscription tiers, we are implicated in this whole thing, but if you can’t laugh at yourself, then comedy isn’t for you.
